Brian Altman served as a prosecutor, defense attorney, city attorney and general practice small town lawyer before being elected to the bench in 1992. He retired twenty-four years later as a superior court judge in rural Washington State.

Educated by the U.S. Navy and at Pomona College, Oxford University, and the University of Washington, he brings a lifetime inside the law to his fiction. A single-hander blue water sailor and avid backpacker, he lives in California’s Owens Valley.
